La Conner Retirement Inn Resident Ruby Martin Turns 100

LA CONNER, WA – February 2017 - La Conner Retirement Inn will be hosting Ruby Martin a party for her 100th birthday on February 18.  Martin, a longtime resident of La Conner has strong ties to the community.  La Conner Retirement Inn is a Radiant Senior Living Community. 

 “I had a blast of a party last year for my 99th, and now, we are really going to have some fun for the big 100,” says Ruby.

Ruby is well known artist in the community. Many people in La Conner know her from the years she spent teaching art to students of all ages.

“I taught classes here at the Retirement Inn and found that it was a nice place and ended up coming here to live,” says Ruby.

Ruby has found many friends at La Conner Retirement Inn. Her key to living to be 100 is to appreciate every day as a gift.  

“Having a wonderful family who are still a major part of my life keeps me going,” she says.

“Ruby always makes us laugh with her jokes and stories. And she is a wonderful artist. Her paintings helped us raise money for the Inn’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s event. We had a silent auction featuring all our resident’s art work, and Ruby’s work helped us meet our goals,” said Executive Director, Jennifer Dennis.
